The Candy pecan tree is known for its smooth texture and exceptional flavor.

Candy Pecan Tree 3-4 Foot Size A

The Candy pecan tree was discovered in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, as a chance seedling on the property of W.B. Schmidt. It was soon noticed for the wonderful qualities that make this tree a keeper.

The Candy is extremely prolific which makes it perfect for landscaping due to its attractive leaves. It is resistant to pecan scab.

Candy produces a smaller size nut that is oval shaped and has excellent shelling qualities. Normally there are 78 nuts per pound.

The 45% kernel Candy has a smooth texture and an exceptional flavor which is great for fruitcakes and candies.

You can expect to start seeing your own high quality pecans in just a few years because Candy is highly precocious. It has mid-season pollen shed and the flowers are receptive in the beginning of the season. Expect to see pecans falling in late September.

Type I pecan varieties such as the Caddo or Pawnee would make excellent choices to cross-pollinate the Candy.
