Surprise Mayhaw

Surprise was bred and selected by Billy Craft from a cross between Double GG and Maxine. It is the latest bloomer at present, with a peak bloom occurring during the first week of April. Fruit ripening is also late compared to other Mayhaws with the peak of its fruit ripening the first week of June. The tree is very productive with the red fruit averaging .75”. Surprise has good horizontal limb growth and dense fruiting spurs. Shatter resistance is good with uniform ripening.

Since we are dealing with a living tree, the availability of certain sizes and quantities fluctuate on a seasonal basis. We will be in touch with each of those who order to verify and make any necessary order changes. All orders are fully refundable if we do not have your tree in stock and a suitable replacement size is not available.
