- 2 to 4 tablespoons of butter
- 1/4 cup of whiskey or bourbon
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 2 tablespoons hot pepper sauce
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 4 cups of pecan halves
Preheat oven to 310 degrees. In a saucepan, combine the first six ingredients. Bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes, stirring to blend flavors. Add pecans and toss to coat well.
Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes; stir. Bake 15 minutes longer. Cool; store in an airtight container. After two weeks, store in freezer
Yield: 4 cups
*Using chipotle pepper sauce will add a smoky flavor.
