Martha Washington Balls

2 boxes powdered sugar

1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk

2 cups coconut flakes

2 cups chopped pecans or pecan pieces

2 sticks margarine, softened

1 tsp vanilla

12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 stick paraffin wax

Mix sifted powdered sugar, condensed milk, coconut flakes, chopped pecans, margarine, and vanilla. Form into small balls; chill overnight on a parchment lined cookie sheet.

Melt chocolate chips and wax in top of a double boiler. Double boiler should have water in bottom so chocolate does not scorch. Make sure you do not put wax into boiler by itself - it can catch fire.

Once completely melted, turn off heat under double boiler. Using a toothpick, dip balls into chocolate mixture and return onto parchment paper to harden. Makes approx. 100 balls.

Store in airtight container.
