Different from toasted pecans, this method adds other flavors and can be served with cocktails
- 1 to 2 tablespoons of butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons of finely ground sea salt or table salt
- 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cups of pecans (preferably halves)
Preheat oven to 310 degrees.*
In a bowl, combine the butter, salt, and Worcestershire sauce. Add pecans and toss to coat well. Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes; stir. Bake 10-15 minutes longer or until golden brown. Do not allow them to burn, as the nuts will acquire a bitter taste.
Yield: 2 cups
*Some recipes recommend an oven temperature of 350 degrees and a shorter baking time. The slower, lower-temperature method produces a “riper” flavor.
