- 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 cup of warm water
- 1 cup of pecan halves
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of chili powder
- 1/8 teaspoon of ground pepper
Stir together sugar and warm water until sugar dissolves. Add pecans; soak for 10 minutes. Drain and discard syrup.
Combine 2 tablespoons of sugar, chili powder, and pepper. Add pecans, tossing to coat. Place pecans on a lightly greased cooking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes stirring once.
